New layout, auditions & tattooed women

New layout! I got really irritated by the previous one, for some reason it made me feel as my graphic design skills had went down the toilet completely, so I decided to make something that took a bit more time and a bit more effort, and I came up with this colourful summer layout! Now that I'm officially the graphic designer of Nana's Violent Promotins Agency, I need to start really designing, and this site is a great practise. On the layout though, what do you guys think?

Auditions - I think they went ok. I didn't do as well as I could've, but the two guys interviewing me were kinda rude, and they had stone faces. No sign of weither they liked me or not, and it's really hard to sing in front of people like that. If I see they don't like me I change something and see what they like, and if they seem to like me I instantly relax and don't feel so stressed. Anyway, I ended up playing some basic E-blues-riff with the guitar, Tommi taught it to me the evening before but I actually think it went ok. I sung a piece of 'American Pie' by the lovely Don McLean, now mainly I wanted to sing the part where to sing forcefully, but instead after I finished the soft intro piece they said "ok, thank you". And I'm better at forceful singing than soft singing - so that kinda still bugs me, but I guess it's in the past and I can't really change that =) I'll know if I get in the 13th of June. Yikes!

How do you guys feel about women with manly tattoos? Often when I've asked this question (specially if I ask it from men) I get weird looks and a "well, um, a woman with manly tattoos is one of the ugliest things in the world". I disagree completely! My taste in women already mainly consists masculine women, but you don't have to be all that manly in order to have big tattoos. On the left it's Kat von D, I best know her as Nikki Sixx's new girlfriend, and I find her looks extremely sexy in a very feminine way, even though she's mostly covered in tattoos. I think that a goodlooking woman with some goodlooking sleeve tattoos (cover the whole arm) is incredibly sexy. Tattoos are all about decorating your body and skin, and sometimes less isn't more after all. I can't think of any kind of woman who wouldn't look good with a tattoo - weither you're a rock'n'roller, a girly girl or someone who wears whatever she finds first in the closet, I think a tattoo adds some personality and spice to everyone. Even if it's just a small one. My deal is, I don't have any money to get a decent tattoo, and since tattoos last for life I don't want some trainee doing my tattoos badly and me having to pay more money to fix them. I do know a lot of people who have had a bad tattoo made and it's not pretty, 'cause if you don't have money to fix it you're stuck with an ugly-ass tattoo. So if you're planning of getting one, do your homework. What kind of ink does the tattoo artist use, check out his/hers tattoo portfolio (usually found on the studio's website), how much does it cost (usually with tattoos, the more you pay, the better quality) and try and talk to someone who's had their tattoo made there. You never know if a tattoo that looks fine right after it was done has lost its colours in a few months.

Will return comments as soon as I have time! I gotta run to the shower now.

Site blabber, GTA IV, Mother's day and auditions
Sun 11th May 2008 11:23am

Yay! This is my 50th post to XIorg. Thank you for all your lovely comments in the previous entry, they were actually very helpful. I think I might go with the pill, 'cause the side effects are possible, and with the pills you can just stop taking the brand and get a new one and see how they work, but with the shot you have to wait for three months until the side effects go away (or as J said, even a year - she had her birthday a few days back, go show her some love!), so I feel as the pill is the safest way to go. I added a clock to the sidebar on the right, it's GMT + 3, which is my time, Helsinki time. 'Cause I put the same time in my entries (above with the date), you'll now know around what time your time was it. :)

Now I've never done an entry on games before, but you guys gotta try GTA IV! I'm not a real gamer girl, I mainly just play online girl games and Sims 2, but since Tommi's got the Xbox 360, I sometimes play. GTA IV just came out a few weeks ago here in Finland, so Tommi ordered it online. It's a great game! I used to play GTA Vice City on Tommi's little bro's PSP when we visited Vääksy, but this is waaaaaay better. I mean, the work this game has gone through seems incredible. There's so much dialogue, every single character has it's own voice and own ways to say things and they're own personality, the whole atmosphere of the game has been made very real. If it's raining, it will be harder to control your car. If you go to a bar, once you come out of the bar you're so drunk the whole screen is blurry and crazy and it's hard to move your character, Niko Bellic. The game is very interesting as it changes all the time, you have a lot of people to work to in different kinds of missions. The stats of the game you can find in the menu are hilarious - it states how many times you've been drunk, how many girls you've slept with, how much money you've spent on hookers (I'm around $200), how many cars/bikes/boats you've stolen, your overall game progress (mine is 11%), relationship status you have with the people you meet a lot, how many people you've killed, your addiction level (I'm a casual user) and all this other shit. This girl just turned into an Xbox 360 girl, this game is one of the best games ever made!

My site wasn't accepted into the Total Beauty Network, I got a friendly e-mail saying they only accept sites with 50% beauty content. Now, Brandi just blogged about this too, and it's true that there are a lot of beauty-, health-, fashion- and makeup-related sites, and even though I love to visit sites like this and this, I don't feel I'm the kind of person to blog only/mainly about beauty and fashion. I'd soon run out of things to blog about. I like to keep my site going on about my personal life and additional things about beauty, apparently games (haha), health, weightloss and all these things that I'm interested in but aren't exactly all about my personal life.

Today it's Mother's Day, we're gonna have a dinner at home and I got my mum a decorative heart with some roses incrusted in it as a present. Tomorrow's the audition for the music high school, I'm gonna sing this kid's song I used to sing a lot when in elementary school, but I'm still not sure on bass or guitar. Bass is easier so I think I will go with that one, but then again - argh, I'll just see. And I'll let you know how it all went in the next blog. Bye!

Different ways of birth control - which to choose?
Thu 8th May 2008 5:56pm

So, Tommi and I have been dating for almost 2 years and 3 months (turning on saturday) and I'm ashamed to say that only now am I thinking about other birth control than condoms. I mean, what? We have sex regularly and we use condoms every time, it's expensive and, of course, it's nicer without one. So, last month I had that doctor's appointment about birth control pills and such, and I still haven't made my mind about this.

My main reason for not using anything but condoms has been fear of side effects. I do not want to gain weight, have excessive mood swings (as I already suffer from them) and I've just been generally scared of the possible side effects. Lately I've been going through a lot of different options, thinking what to try, and I don't think I wanna get on the pill, nor do I want the contraceptive patch. I've been thinking about the shot, the NuvaRing, the implant and the IUD. But, of course, I've heard bad things about them all. As I've never used anything but condoms, I have no idea how my body will react to different hormone treatments, so if I take the shot and get some bad side effects, I have to stick with them for the whole three months that the shot is active for. The IUD on the other hand, it's mainly used for women who have already given birth as a nurse once told me that a woman who's never been pregnant for long has a smaller uterus than the ones who have children, so the IUD can actually hurt in there. I've been beating my head against the wall with this, 'cause I really wanna stop using condoms and change into something else.

So, the point of this post is to get a bit more information for myself. Does anyone of you have any kind of experience on any of the birth controls I mentioned above? Positive or negative, doesn't matter. It's just that I'm exactly the kind of girl to forget the pill, so I'd rather go with something I don't have to think about. That's why the IUD would be perfect, as it stays in for five years - and the shot lasts for three months. So, do you use/have you used any of the birth controls mentioned in the paragraph above? If so, what were your experiences?

These kinda things make me hate men :( It's easy for them, all they can use is the condom and it's got no side effects (unless you're allergic to latex). Tommi and I have been together for long enough not to be scared of diseases, so basically the condom is pretty useless for us. And I don't wanna go on the "if I try pills for a month and change if they don't  work, then try this and this and this"-routine.

Right now I can't even take hormone treatments, because as I was meeting the doctor about this they took my blood samples to see if I have a big risk to get a blood clot (as birth control pills increase the risk) and as I called the doctor for the results he couldn't tell me what was wrong, but he said he's not sure if I have a big risk or a tiny risk to get one - so I'll have to wait until I can even try out any of the methods. Hmph.
